Who'd thunk it?

Five months ago today, the Nuggets were the toast of the town.

The Avalanche already had finished dead, and last, in the NHL's Western Conference with only 32 victories, and Joe Sakic was through.

The Rockies had just lost three games to the Dodgers to fall to 18-28, and there was a hue, and a cry, to get rid of the manager.

The Broncos were in the middle of an offseason passing camp and in the center of a tempest. Jay Cutler had been traded, Kyle Orton looked ordinary in the workout, and Chris Simms was sharing time with the No. 1 offensive unit.
