I suppose we can root for the thrill of double overtime in today's 113th Civil War. Or an epic individual performance by University of Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, or five rushing touchdowns by Oregon State's Jacquizz Rodgers.
But above all that, I'll root for civility today.
For the last nine days I've heard trash talk, and boos, and listened to fans on both sides tell awful stories about being spit on by each other, or grazed by thrown objects at the stadium. One Duck fan told me his girlfriend was punched in the face by an Oregon State fan. And former Beavers sports information director Hal Cowan said he once had his car windows smashed in the Autzen Stadium parking lot.
