Celtics Have No Excuse for Lazy Debacle

They were back to shouting "BOSTON SUCKS! BOSTON SUCKS!" in Staples Center, letting the chant swirl around the lower and upper bowls with a vindictive vigor. Only this time, I don't think any of us who watched the Celtics in Game 6 would disagree with the sentiment. They really did stink Tuesday night, delivering one of the ugliest and most sluggish performances imaginable for a sports team on the doorstep of a championship.

Who scores 67 points, second-lowest ever in the NBA Finals, in a potential elimination game? Who falls behind by 22 points in the first half and loses 89-67? Who shoots an abysmal 33 percent from the field and manages merely 13 points from the bench, including an astonishing goose egg in 27 minutes from Game 4 hero and press-conference comic Glen "Big Baby" Davis and an even more galling shutout from Rasheed (0 for 7, four fouls) Wallace?
