As halftime ended Thursday night at the Sun Dome,UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma stopped to say a quick hello to an old golfing buddy on the way back to his bench.
South Florida football coach Skip Holtz looked exactly as Auriemma expected; smiling, engaging and wearing a sweater vest from Augusta National.
"Yeah, he gets to play there all the time because his father [Lou Holtz] is a member," Auriemma said.
Holtz had spent most of the first half acknowledging the wild cheers of the student body and the band for the women's basketball game between the Huskies and Bulls.
Auriemma patted his buddy, now apparently a campus rock star, on the butt.
