The prevailing wisdom on how to neutralize Chicago's Devin Hester on punt returns is kick toward the sidelines.
Some say that's the worst thing to do.
"Believe it or not, you don't want to angle punt to Hester," said an executive in personnel for a Bears opponent this season. "If you want to control Hester, you sky kick it and make him (fair) catch it."
Heresy, you say? Not according to Jon Ryan, the Green Bay Packers former punter who helped Seattle minimize Hester in the Seahawks' 35-24 divisional playoff loss Sunday at Soldier Field.
