Obstruction Charge Could Await Bonds' Trainer

Greg Anderson, a childhood friend of Barry Bonds, was escorted into custody by federal marshals at United States District Court on Tuesday after refusing to testify in Bonds’s perjury trial.

Anderson, the former personal trainer for Bonds and other professional athletes entangled in the Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative steroids investigation, already has spent more than a year in jail or prison for failing to testify in the case. This time, the judge, Susan Illston, told him he would remain in custody for the duration of the trial, which could last as long as four weeks.
