Barry Bonds had just been convicted, but as he stood on the sidewalk outside the courtroom, for a brief moment, he was smiling. The smile grew when a school bus rolled past and kids screamed his name. Then another person barked: "What are you going to do tonight, Barry? Celebrate?"
At that, Bonds stopped grinning and spoke softly.
"No," he said. "There's nothing for me to celebrate."
He can say that again. You can say that again. We can all say that again.
