New hitting coach. Same old script.

“Deju vu,” said manager Edwin Rodriguez after the Marlins lost their eighth straight in a 3-2 defeat to the Atlanta Braves on Thursday.

Seven of the eight losses have been by one run.

“Unbelievable,” said reliever Edward Mujica.

On a day in which Eduardo Perez took over as hitting coach for John Mallee, who was fired the night before, the Marlins remained stagnant at the plate and practically invisible on the scoreboard.

They have scored just four runs over their past 34 innings.
