ANAHEIM - The heat is on in Texas.
Wednesday was the 58th day this summer that temperatures topped 100 degrees in the Dallas-Forth Worth melt-roplex. Record-breaking highs around 108 are predicted this weekend.
But what the Angels have done over the past week has really caused the Rangers to sweat.
An 8-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night at Angel Stadium extended the Angels' season-high winning streak to six games and shaved the Rangers' lead in the AL West to 2 1/2 games. There is another three-game showdown between the division's top two teams set for this weekend on the surface of the sun ... er, Texas.
