For all the races, titles and medals Lindsey Vonn has won in her ski racing career, she had never won a World Cup giant slalom. But with a daring and aggressive finish Saturday in Sölden, Austria, Vonn won the season-opening giant slalom and became the fifth woman to win a race in all five World Cup disciplines.
Vonn joins Pernilla Wiberg and Anja Paerson of Sweden, Petra Kronberger of Austria and Janica Kostelic of Croatia as women who have completed the sweep. She is also the second American to do it, after Bode Miller.
