The Sharks kept their trip a perfect 4-0, beating the Detroit Red Wings 4-2 for their fourth consecutive win at Joe Louis Arena. Joe Thornton's first goal of the night proved to be the winner and his second into an empty net with 35 seconds left sealed the victory. Sharks coach Todd McLellan did what he could to tamp down the importance of the game as any sort of special test or measuring stick. "It's funny," he said before the game. "They don't distinguish the value between points in October and April, so they're all big, they're all important."
