Big Mistake Might Be the Difference

LSU: Here’s an interesting number: LSU runs the ball more than Alabama. The Tigers have 352 carries (38 more than the Tide), and share a bulk of the load between TBs Spencer Ware and Michael Ford. QB Jordan Jefferson’s return to the lineup has given LSU another run threat, although the focus of the offense is still power running with the tailbacks setting up play-action throws for QB Jarrett Lee. After a rough beginning to his LSU career, Lee is having a memorable senior season, throwing for 13 TDs and only 1 INT and helping the Tigers dictate tempo on offense. That, of course, leaves the stifling LSU defense fresh (more on that later).
