Rookie Dan Bailey kicked a 28-yard field goal on the final play of the game to lead the surging Dallas Cowboys to a 20-19 win in front of 87,418 at Cowboys Stadium Thursday.
The Cowboys have won four consecutive games to improve their record to 7-4. Miami fell to 3-8.
Miami scored first after Sean Smith intercepted Romo at the Cowboys 26. Five plays later, Shayne Graham made a 26-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead at the 2:42 mark of the opening quarter. The lead would stand at the end of the first quarter.
After forcing another Dallas punt, Miami moved into scoring position again, but Graham’s 47-yard field goal sailed wide left with 9:40 left in the first half.
The miss opened the door for the Cowboys to tie the game.
Dallas drove 48 yards in 10 plays with Bailey’s 32-yard field goal making it 3-3 with 4:38 left in the half.
