It was almost as if Penn State was saying, "I'm sorry," over and over, under a weepy kind of sky Saturday.
Fumble. "I'm sorry."
Interception. "I'm really sorry."
Eighty-nine-yard run called back on a penalty. "I'm really, really sorry."
But we move on, because a couple of minutes into Wisconsin's thorough flogging of the disgraced giant, it stopped being about Penn State and all about the Badgers landing where they were supposed to be all along.
And that would be in the first Big Ten championship game.
Of course, Wisconsin did not have to make the Nittany Lions pay like they did, the abject 45-7 beating it put on Penn State for no other reason than somebody had to win the Legends Division. Or is it the Leaders?
But Michigan State?...
