Cowboys' Status Same After Win-Win

The Dallas Cowboys got their victory and enjoyed it, too.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett gave the players the day off after their 31-15 blowout of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No walk-through. No meetings. Just treatment.

It turned into a doubly good "victory Sunday" when the Giants were upset by the Redskins 23-10. It put the Cowboys back into sole possession of first place at 8-6, a game ahead of the Giants, and two games up on the Eagles with two to play.

"It doesn't matter to us," Garrett said of the Giants' loss. "... We have no reason to scoreboard-watch. What we have to do is worry about ourselves, focus on what we have to do as individual players and coaches."
