So, the Bears should’ve made their fans happy by removing the GM.
But no. These are the Bears. It’s not that clean. It’s not that smart. They got rid of the GM and apparently will deny his successor the usual opportunity to name his own coach.
What’s more, the Bears empowered Lovie Smith.
Bears president Ted Phillips said Smith will keep his job. If the new GM had said that, fine. At least he would’ve been the one making the decision.
