San Francisco's Alex Smith fired a 14-yard touchdown pass to Vernon Davis with nine seconds remaining Saturday, lifting the 49ers to a 36-32 victory over New Orleans in a wild divisional playoff game at Candlestick Park. A defensive gem of a game transformed into a shootout in the final minutes, with a series of rapid-fire touchdowns.
First, Darren Sproles gave the Saints their first lead of the game with a 44-yard touchdown catch and run with 4:02 to play. The 49ers reclaimed the lead with 2:11 remaining, when Smith ran a keeper around the left side, untouched, 28 yards into the end zone.
