For a team that has conquered teams ranked second and third, it sounded strange.

“Best win of the year for us,” Kansas coach Bill Self said.

Really? A 69-66 survival against an unranked Texas squad that suffered its seventh loss and is buried in the second division of the Big 12 standings?

“Absolutely,” Self said. “On the road, in a tough place for us, having to come from behind. Best win.”
