Wisconsin's latest Big Ten road victory, a 67-63 grinder over No. 22 Illinois on Sunday, was impressive for several reasons:
UW ended a streak of 10 consecutive road losses against ranked foes, dating to the 2008-'09 Big Ten opener against No. 23 Michigan, and improved its road record this season to 4-2.
After committing eight turnovers in the first half and hitting only 3 of 10 free-throw attempts over the first 22 minutes 19 seconds of the game, the Badgers improved dramatically in both areas.
They turned the ball over just twice after halftime and hit seven of their final eight free throws. That included a 5-of-6 streak by guard Jordan Taylor in the last 22 seconds as UW moved within one-half game of first place.
