Fox Sports Making Big Push in Soccer Market

This spring, negotiations will start on one of the most coveted sports properties in the world. It will involve broadcast networks across the globe, and will result in the exchange of tens of billions of dollars. The subject of these negotiations will be English Premier League (EPL) broadcasting rights.

Broadcast in over 200 countries worldwide, the EPL brings in more than £2.7 billion in overseas television contracts. These contracts are given out on a three-year basis, and the current season is in the middle of the current cycle. The rights being negotiated in the spring will last from the 2013-14 season to the 2015-2016 season.
