Montreal Canadiens coach Randy Cunneyworth hopes that his players use the all-star break to replenish their bodies but he also hopes they return with memories of what they did right in Wednesday night’s 7-2 rout of the Detroit Red Wings.
“Directness,” Cunneyworth said when asked about the key to the Canadiens’ 4-0 first-period outburst. “We drove to the net and when you get pucks to the net, good things are going to happen.
“You want guys to enjoy themselves on the break but you also want them to take care of themselves and come back with the same attitude we had tonight.”
