Pats in Indy; Brady Makes Pledge

The Patriots’ journey started at Gillette Stadium Sunday, where about 25,000 fans filled the lower bowl of the structure to send the team off to Super Bowl XLVI. And that’s also where a loose, confident Tom Brady emerged.

“We’re going down there, and we’re going down there for one reason,” the Patriots quarterback told the crowd. “We’re going to give it our best, and hopefully we have a lot more people at our party next weekend.”

A party next weekend would mean, of course, that the Patriots defeated the Giants in their title rematch. A bold guarantee? Upon arriving in the Super Bowl host city, Brady — with a touch of annoyance — said he was merely playing to the crowd.
