Michigan Hangs on to Beat Indiana

Michigan raced out to an early 20-point lead — and blew that lead — but held on for a 68-56 victory over the No. 20 Indiana Hoosiers at the Crisler Center on Wednesday night.

Trey Burke finished with 18 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. and Novak 13 scored each for the No. 22 Wolverines (17-6, 7-3), who moved into a second-place tie in the Big Ten.

With U-M's first-half advantage whittled to two with 3:20 remaining, Hardaway and Stu Douglass hit back-to-back 3-pointers to push the lead to eight. From there, the Wolverines made 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch to put the game away.

Michigan (17-6, 7-3) scored the first 13 points of the game, sparked by Burke, who had eight points during the start, including back-to-back 3-pointers.

Indiana didn't get its first basket until Christian Watford hit a jumper in the lane at the 15:18 mark.
