Parise, Devils Stymie Penguins

There was no fist-pumping or over-the-top celebration.

But make no mistake. The Devils wanted to show a lot of doubters that they could play with the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

They are 4-0 since the All-Star break, with victories over the Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins.

By knocking out goalie Marc-Andre Fleury in a 5-2 triumph over the Penguins today at the Prudential Center, the Devils capped a weekend which sure looked like they were making a statement to the conference’s contenders.
