It's been a week since Josh Hamilton made the wrong kind of local and national headlines.
But after doing a couple of columns on Josh's dark-side slip, the strong emotional response from readers was not surprising. Josh is a special player, a popular player and because of "his story," he has an immense faith-based following.
Readers were eager to show love and support. On the other side, there was disappointment and disgust.
But because of my less than sympathetic point of view on this relapse, the strongest criticism aimed in this direction came from readers who identified themselves as recovering addicts involving booze and/or drugs.
"You know nothing about addiction," they all agreed.
It's true. Luckily, I humbly add, it's true.
