Brandon Prust’s first goal in 49 games held up as Sunday’s game-winner against the Capitals at the Garden, but Ryan McDonagh wore the Broadway Hat after the Rangers’ 3-2 win. That caught John Tortorella off-guard.

“McDonagh got the hat?” said the Rangers coach, pleased with the defenseman but proud of Prust for his heavy lifting and third-period shorthanded goal. “Pruster shoulda got the hat.”
