The Miami Heat figured this would be a test.
On Sunday, it appeared they either knew the questions to the exam or had a cheat sheet. The Heat made it look easy in their 107-87 victory against the Atlanta Hawks at Phillips Arena to kick off their stretch of games in three straight days.
"That's about as close as we've gotten to our identity on both ends," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "Forget about the numbers and the stats at the end. There was a real focus and commitment to play to our identity. We were able to pull out a very good win against a very good team."
Breezing past the Hawks should make this back-to-back-to-back somewhat easier to endure. With rest a concern, the Heat were able to sit LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh most of the fourth quarter. By then, the game was already a laugher. James led the Heat with 23 points, 13 rebounds...
