Mickelson's Superiority Re-Emerging

He’d barely sniffed a win in almost two years. He’d limped and grimaced through health problems. His personal life had been challenging, to say the least.

If Tiger Woods endured all that and won the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, the world would be in an uproar.

s it is, Phil Mickelson is getting a nice round of golf claps.

There’s no doubt it’s Tiger’s World and the rest of us just obsess over him in it. But isn’t it time to give Lefty his due?

His win Sunday culminated a great comeback. And everybody loves a great comeback story, right?

OK, everybody will not cheer if Woods comes back. But almost everybody is intrigued by his attempt to get there. That makes it hard to fully appreciate what Mickelson did Sunday.
