Calhoun Era at UConn Seems Near an End

Though rich with talent, the Huskies (15-9) are in a tailspin. They are 5-7 in the Big East Conference and have lost six of their last seven games going into today's league game against DePaul. They are without coach Jim Calhoun, who took a medical leave Feb. 3 because back pain related to spinal stenosis has left him immobile. By phone, Calhoun says he is continuing to consult with specialists. Surgery is not out of the question.
