When asked Tuesday by USA TODAY's Jeff Zillgitt if there was any chance he would be adding Lin to the Rising Stars game, Stern replied, "No."
Stern must have his reasons. Maybe he's saving Lin for one of the more popular Saturday night events, say, the Shooting Stars competition. Stern certainly knows that the teams have already been picked (by the league's assistant coaches) and probably feels that the NBA can't mess around with the time-honored sanctity of the selection process for the Rising Stars Challenge. After all, some things will always be sacred in the NBA, like starting the season in early November and playing 82 regular-season games.
