Sometimes the way they play is extraordinary and sometimes the Red Wings are less than that.
There have been times during this 23-game win streak at Joe Louis Arena they've won late, other times they've taken control of a game early.
But, in the end, they keep winning, as they did in Sunday's 3-2 victory over San Jose. It wasn't in overly great fashion, but there are no style points associated with these victories.
They just keep winning.
"Especially after we broke the record (after 20 games), it was kind of natural to (possibly) have a letdown," said Henrik Zetterberg, who opened the scoring against the Sharks with his 13th goal. "We haven't played our best games (since then) but we've found ways to win."
