As much as adversity has become a companion for the Coyotes, pressure has been a relative stranger.
Ever since the Coyotes were left without an owner in 2009, the hockey world expected little from the team in the desert. Perhaps it would be competitive, outsiders predicted, but becoming a consistent playoff team would be difficult to achieve with a handicapped budget.
"We have nothing to lose," coach Dave Tippett said. "We're going to go out and play and do whatever we can to be successful."
