No Prank; Bengals Draft WR Sanu

This time, it really was the Cincinnati Bengals calling Mohamed Sanu.

A day and two rounds after he was the victim of a prank by someone claiming to represent the Bengals and telling him he was the team’s first-round pick (and 27th overall), Rutgers’ record-setting wide receiver wound up going to Cincinnati in the third round of last night’s NFL Draft.

The 6-2, 215-pound Sanu was the 83rd player taken overall.

Sanu, who set a school and Big East record with 115 catches last season (for 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns), had been projected as going anywhere from the middle of the second round to the third round by most experts after leaving school...
