When is a six-run outing cause for celebration? When it belongs to Clay Buchholz.
The right-hander’s confounding season continued last night, but this time with a ray of light. Simultaneously the pitching staff’s weak link and wins leader, Buchholz at least looked like his old self for six innings last night before imploding in the seventh.
By that point, the offense had done enough to ensure Buchholz emerged with his third win, and he was the pitcher of record in an 11-6 victory over Oakland.
