The last Primanti Brothers sandwiches and Iron City brews have been consumed and we’re left with one nagging question from NHL draft weekend in the Steel City.
Where the heck were all the trades?
The only headliney thing that happened during the actual proceedings was the Jordan Staal to Carolina deal, one the Penguins were forced into when Staal turned down a 10-year extension. And it’s one no one else could really be in on because Staal made it clear he wanted to go to the Hurricanes to play with his brother Eric.
And I felt pangs for my media brethren from Philadelphia and Toronto, who probably had to put aside dinner and reopen their laptops after everything had ended Saturday because the Flyers dealt James van Riemsdyk to the Leafs for Luke Schenn a few hours after everyone had cleared out of Consol Energy Center.
