Colts Acquire Dolphins CB Davis

Jim Irsay huffed and puffed, and on the fourth day, look what the “trade winds” blew in: Vontae Davis, a richly talented veteran cornerback, acquired Sunday by the Indianapolis Colts, who traded their 2013 second-round draft pick and a conditional late-round selection to the Miami Dolphins.

Davis (5-11, 205) is a fourth-year player who will immediately move in as the starter at left cornerback, opposite Jerraud Powers.

Colts coach Chuck Pagano loved the move. He also loved the price.

“You don’t find guys like this in the second (round),” Pagano said during a Sunday afternoon conference call.
