There was a handful of perplexed, frustrated looks on the faces of some of the best golfers in the world as they came marching off the redesigned 18th green during the practice rounds leading up to the 10th Deutsche Bank Championship yesterday at TPC Boston.
The course designers spent this season revamping the green at one of the easiest holes on tour last season in order to add some uneasiness to the approach shot. They also wanted players to use some creativity around the green.
So far, it seems to be working.
