Schaub-to-Johnson a Winner for Texans

No wonder quarterback Matt Schaub got off to a three-for-seven start in a scoreless first quarter for the Texans in their regular-season opener against the Miami Dolphins.

Schaub’s right hand must have been a little stiff from signing his new four-year, $62 million contract extension that includes $24.75 million guaranteed and a $15.5 million average per year.

Schaub can thank cornerback Johnathan Joseph for redoing his contract to free up $4 million in cap dollars to get the deal done.

Schaub threw for 43 yards, and the team favored by 12 points trailed Miami by three. Fans showed their frustration by booing an offense that’s supposed to be one of the best and most balanced in the NFL this season.
