SEATTLE—By halftime, it had come to this for the Jets and Mark Sanchez: It was surprising to see them complete a pass, gain a first down, simply extend an offensive possession beyond three plays.
The Seattle Seahawks have a stout defense, including a group of tall, ornery defensive backs who had promised to make life difficult for the Jets' wide receivers, but even that truth didn't mitigate what transpired here at CenturyLink Field on Sunday: a 28-7 loss that sent the Jets to 3-6 and further hurt their playoff chances.
One would think the loss might also compel coach Rex Ryan to start backup quarterback Tim Tebow, but it didn't—at least not yet.
