Kaepernick's Late Mistake Costs 49ers

ST. LOUIS -- A ghastly error by quarterback Colin Kaepernick cost the 49ers their lead with 3 minutes, 4 seconds left in regulation Sunday.

In the end, the 49ers were saddled with a stunning, 16-13 overtime loss against the host St. Louis Rams.

Greg Zuerlein completed the Rams' improbable comeback with a 54-yard field goal in the final minute of overtime. Zuerlein, a rookie, forced overtime with a 53-yard field goal as regulation expired.
