SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Four seasons, 45 wins, three conference titles and oodles of offense already are in the books, with Thursday’s Fiesta Bowl to come.
Might that then be the end of the road for the Chip Kelly era at Oregon?
Uncertainty looms for the Ducks and their coach, given reported interest from a few of the seven NFL teams currently searching for head coaches. Kelly “is the Eagles’ prime target,” the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday, and the Browns “will most likely pursue Kelly,” the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported, in each case quoting anonymous NFL sources.
Kelly isn’t talking about his future, as the Ducks’ matchup with Kansas State on Thursday approaches. Nobody else around the program seems certain of his intention to stay or go.
