Misused, Abused Howard Should Leave

It was the question that was supposed to dog the Lakers all season, even as they romped toward their two predestined showdowns, first with the Oklahoma City Thunder and then the Miami Heat.

The query resurfaces now, but, this time, it arrives with a twist.

It's no longer will he but rather why would he. Why, in the name of all that's sane, would Dwight Howard re-sign with this rock pile?

Because he enjoys getting fewer shots than Jodie Meeks?

Because he longs to play for a coach who doesn't know how to use a center?

Because the Lakers give him his worst chance to...
