They have 10 games and 23 days to make their case. Doc Rivers does not want to trade away Paul Pierce. Kevin Garnett and Avery Bradley, and most of the other players on the Celtics roster probably don’t want to say goodbye to their captain, either.
It would be a tap-out on 2013, a sure sign that all hope is lost and the Garnett-Pierce era is finally, officially over.
Can’t blame the coach and the players for locking arms and lying down in front of the bulldozer if Ainge decides to knock the whole thing down and start over. Good for them.
