Suspension Could Easily Cost Cowboys Division

The Dallas Cowboys learned running back Ezekiel Elliott will be suspended by the NFL for the first six games of the 2017 NFL season on Friday. Barring appeal, he would miss games against the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers, eligible to return for the Washington Redskins game in Week 8, one week after the team's bye and almost two months after the start of the regular season.

His absence certainly lessens the chances the Cowboys had of winning the NFC  East, which figures to be one of the most competitive in the league.
