On Dec. 12, 2012, Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie told reporters that his franchise, absent from the playoffs for two straight seasons, had lost its way.

Lurie was addressing his firing of 14-year head coach Andy Reid, who had presided over the team's most successful run in the Super Bowl era – 224 wins, nine playoff appearances, five conference championships, and an appearance Super Bowl XXXIX.
