Nebraska Makes Interesting Choice, Opts Not to Play Defense

by Ryan Hudson

I know that new AD Tom Osborne already slipped up earlier this week when he referred to what the “new coaching staff” will have to do next year, so maybe Bill Callahan is upset about that. But man, the Huskers are just getting flat-out embarrassed today in Lawrence.

Look at some of the numbers #8 Kansas has put up today:

69 points
519 total yards
34 first downs
1 punt
KU’s quarterback, Todd Reesing, is 29-40 for 344 yards and SIX touchdowns

Now, when you look at those numbers, consider that there is still over TWELVE minutes left in the game.

Today also marked the first time ever that a Nebraska defense has allowed as many as 48 points in the first half. Ouch.

This season can not end quickly enough.
