What To Watch: Thursday

by Robbie Gillies

7pm ET – ESPN2 – UConn vs. Gardner-Webb - Because of Gardner-Webb’s upset of Kentucky, they get to play UConn twice over their next three games. The Runnin’ Bulldogs are 3-0 and have an average margin of victory of almost 18 points.

8pm – TNT – Spurs @ Mavericks – Another big battle in the Southwest division. Mavs are 3-0 at home, but will get their biggest test of the early season. Over/under of Mark Cuban shots during the telecast: 8.

9pm – ESPN – College Football: Oregon @ Arizona
– Isn’t there something about the #2 team in the nation losing almost every week? There was USC, then Cal, then South Florida, and most recently Boston College. Oregon’s QB Dennis Dixon is in the thick of the Heisman race, but faces an Arizona team that actually leads the PAC-10 in passing offense.

9pm – ESPN2 – Memphis vs. Oklahoma – Frosh sensation Derrick Rose, is being compared to Michael Jordan. Wow, I don’t know about that…

Alright, I can see it.

10:30pm – TNT – Bulls @ Suns – This looked to be a possible preview of the NBA Finals, but the Bulls aren't holding up their end of the deal. They're 1-5 and have the second worst offense in the league, but Tyrus Thomas can be fun to watch. Although he would probably be more fun to watch if he were on the Suns.

Non-sports pick – 8:30/9pm – NBC – 30 Rock & The Office – The best hour of comedy on TV. Enjoy it before they run out of scripts to produce due to the writers’ strike and start putting The Biggest Loser on 5 times a week.
