NFL Rookie Watch: Week 13

by Robbie Gillies

JaMarcus Russell (Raiders) - Raiders fans had been waiting for this for two years. Not, Russell playing, but winning a division game at home. Russell went 4 for 7 for 56 yards in 2 series that led to no points. Basically, we learned nothing about Russell from his limited action.

Adrian Peterson (Vikings)
- All those people that thought the Vikings should shut down Adrian Peterson are eating their words now. Peterson had 116 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 15 carries. Lions' Kenoy Kennedy is still wondering where Peterson went on that ridiculous fake on his way to the endzone. Despite missing two games, he still leads the league in rushing yards (1,197).

Patrick Willis (49ers) - The 49ers are simply terrible. They got blown out by the Panthers 31-14. But, Willis will win the Defensive Rookie Of the Year. He added 18 more tackles to his now league leading 128 total tackles this season.

Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs)
- Bowe added 5 catches for 55 yards and continues to lead all rookies in those two categories. He's on pace to get over 1,000 receiving yards on the season. Now the Chiefs just need to pick a QB to throw to him.

Sydney Rice (Vikings)
- Rice had 5 catches for 53 yards and 1 TD. The touchdown came with just five seconds left in the half and gave the Vikings a 34-10 lead.

John Beck (Dolphins)
- A lot of people thought the Dolphins would finally win a game this season. They were actually favored against the Jets, but John Beck made sure the Dolphins couldn't win this game. Beck was 23 for 39 for just 177 yards. That's just 4.5 yards per attempt. Oh yeah, he also had 3 interceptions and 2 lost fumbles- that'll hurt your team too.

Trent Edwards (Bills)
- Edwards is now 4-1 as a starter. Although he never managed to get it in the endzone, he also didn't turn it over. Edwards finished 22 for 36 for 257 yards and most importantly a victory.

Aundrae Allison (Vikings)
- Now there's a 3rd Viking rookie contributing on offense. Allison had 2 catches for 52 yards. He also had a 103 yard kick return, longest in team history. But, to be fair, he there were some awful attempts at tackling Allison on his way to the endzone.
