May 09, 2008A lot of things have changed in the NBA during the past 20 years: there's more teams, less scoring and David Stern got rid of the mustache. But perhaps the most noticeable shift in play has taken shape in a lack of physicality (LeBron James would like to disagree, of course). Chances are good you won't soon see a take down like the one Bill Laimbeer puts on Larry Bird in this video unearthed by The Commission, let alone a player throwing the ball at someone, as Bird does.
I can't imagine how long someone would be suspended nowadays if that same incident took place.
