Angels Remain Atop RCS Rankings

by Jeff Briggs

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are the No. 1 team in the RCS Power Rankings for the fourth straight week. Almost all voters selected the Angels, #1, with the exception of ESPN. This week sees the same top-10 teams as last week, but with some shakeups in the order.

The Yankees, sans Joba, fell from 5th into a tie for 9th, while the Brewers moved up from 8th to 5th. The Cubs take the second place spot in the ranking, entering the top-two for the first time since June 25th.

At the bottom of the rankings, the Nationals would be the consensus last place pick if not for Bugs & Cranks.

For the first week this season, the Diamondbacks are not the top ranked team in the NL West, as Manny and the Dodgers have overtaken them (15th to 16th). The rest of the NL West is ranked in the 25th-29th range, as is the norm.
